Crusaders News · Crusaderettes defeat Summers, Advance to Semifinal

Day 1 of the State Tournament proved successful as the Parkersburg Catholic Crusaderettes took care of the Summers County Bobcats, moving them into the State Semifinal. PCHS began the game slow as they trailed early, however a run at the end of the 1st quarter gave them a narrow lead heading into the break. The Crusaderettes would only build on the lead the rest of the game, resulting in a 70-54 victory over the 7-seed Bobcats. Parkersburg Catholic found points from all over the floor as Madeline Huffman finished with 27 points, Leslie Huffman finished with 12, Paige Stotts and Lainie Ross contributed 4 points each, and Jenna Boice added 3. Aaliyah Brunny finished the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds, a double-double for the talented sophomore.

Earlier in the morning session the #6 Trinity Warriors upset #3 Magnolia, meaning the Crusaderettes will look to avenge their lone loss on the season to TCHS in the semifinal game. The game will tip-off at 9:30 AM Friday morning, and all fans are asked to make the trip to cheer our girls onto the State Championship. Let’s Go Blue!
