The 2019 PCHS track team is looking strong, as they wrapped up the regular season this past week. The Crusaders have improved immensely since the first track meet back in March, as everyone on the team has been setting new PRs.
Most recently, the Crusaders competed in the LKC Meet on May 3rd at Tyler Consolidated High School. On the girls’ side, Grace Wojcik made finals in the 100m, 200m, and 400m, placing 6th in both the 200m and 400m events. Audrey Sprout advanced to finals in the 100m and 200m as well. Lainie Ross advanced to finals in the 100m Hurdles and Long Jump. Emma Gardner advanced to finals in both Shot Put and Discus, placing 2nd and 6th respectively. Aaliyah Brunny advanced to finals in the Long Jump, 100m Hurdles, and 300m Hurdles, finishing 4th in 100m hurdles and as LKC Champion in Long Jump and 300m Hurdles. Aaliyah was the lone Crusader to become a 1st team All-LKC Selection. The boys’ team also saw success, as Jalen Brunny advanced to finals in both Shot Put and Discus, placing 5th and 4th respectively.
PCHS will now look forward to the Regional Meet, which will take place on May 9th at Parkersburg South High School. It is there that the Crusaders will attempt to advance to the State Meet, which will be in Charleston at Laidley Field on May 17th and 18th. We ask that fans come support the track team on May 9th at Erickson Field. Let’s Go Blue!
